Berks County Family Residential Center provides a safe, secure environment that promotes personal accountability, competency development and community outreach programs that offer opportunities for positive change.
Life at the Shelter:
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Cafeteria
- Medical and Social Services provided
- Education Services provided by certified teachers
- English class is made available to adults
- Religious Opportunities (Chaplain on staff)
- Recreation and field-trips for residents
- Lounge and game areas with TV’s, Ping-Pong, Pool Tables, Foosball, puzzles, etc.
- Bi-lingual volunteers are needed to lead Bible Studies for the adults and to read Bible stories to the children
- Teach a special skill, like gardening, art, cooking, etc.
- Play music/sing, puppet shows, acting, etc.
- Books and magazines in Spanish
- Bibles in Spanish
- Devotional guides, Bible Study workbooks (i.e., Sunday School or Small Group books)
- Toys, board games, checkers, and decks of cards
- New or gently used clothing, and shoes
- Yarn for knitting and crochet
- Construction paper and art supplies
- Activity and coloring books
