Home->How We Serve->Ministry Philosophy
Jesus’ first vision and passion was for the Kingdom of Heaven. I believe Christ called and formed the Church to be His partner (bride) in fulfilling His Kingdom. For centuries, the Church has prayed “Your Kingdom Come”. It is an offer, not a demand; a gift to the poor in spirit. It does not come by force, but by responding to His invitation, "Seek first the Kingdom."
My heart rejoices when the church community embraces each other in ministry to the poor, the prisoner, the sick and the stranger.
The Church unites:
- In the CROP Walk to minister to the hungry in this county and the world.
- When congregations cooperate, providing positive role models and offering many programs to our youth.
- When services like Police Chaplaincy and Hospital Chaplaincy go from an idea to reality, and continue to grow to meet those needs.
- When, through Chaplaincy services, care is provided to the incarcerated, and after-care comes through HalfWay Church, mentoring, and re-entry programs.
- When various traditions pray together and congregations share their facilities with other cultures.
- As we work together to strengthen God-ordained marriages and families.
- In its service to those in nursing homes across the county by providing worship services and care.
Jesus envisioned the Church in unity by regions and cities fulfilling the Kingdom of Heaven. The angel announced to the Blessed Mother Mary, "He will reign…forever, and of His Kingdom there will be no end." Jesus is waiting for us even now to come to His Kingdom!
