|February 26, 2019 (Reading, PA): On Thursday, February 21, 2019, Reading Berks Conference of Churches (RBCC) hosted a news conference unveiling details about their Prayer Breakfast entitled “Come to the Father’s Table.” About 30 individuals attended this news conference last week, and those in attendance nodded in agreement as speakers addressed the “chaos” that fills the city of Reading and the need for change, the need for advancement, the need for the church to move.
“We can not do it alone,” said Board President, Nancy Lennert. “We are making a difference, but we need the help. It’s time to come together!” Lennert emphasized the importance of all Christians coming together to find how they can get involved.
“The Prayer Breakfast is a great way to get involved,” said Executive Director, Michael Kaucher. “This year’s prayer breakfast will be different than years past. All of it telling a bigger story of what we see God is doing in the city through the work of RBCC and Transformative Solutions.”
“Get ready, get ready, get ready,” said Reading southside pastor Jerry Jones. Jones was one of the speakers at a news conference for the Reading Berks Conference of Churches on Thursday afternoon.
Jones is a member of a new initiative called “Transformative Solutions” and its mission is to address poverty in the
City of Reading – starting on the southside. “The City of Reading is a good city! I am so glad to have been invited to be a part of this initiative, because I do believe that God is doing a new thing.” said Jones.
