The Good Idea – “Be of Good Courage”

The Good Idea….. “Be of Good Courage”

Hello and welcome to the Good Idea,

When I write, I do not like to date my writings so that they will be “timeless.” But today is different…..I shall set a time here with “Be of Good
Courage.”

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV)
14  Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Recently we have experienced hurricanes, earthquakes, tropical storms, and memories of September 11, 2001. All of us have relatives living in areas where disasters have hit or we live in those areas ourselves. All of us worry, fuss, and have anxieties over conditions that are beyond our control.

Personally we have family in Texas and Florida….one hurricane after another. What do we do? We can worry, we can cry, we can succumb to the stress so much so that we are of no good. I have been searching wide and deep for instructions on “how to deal” with the great unknown.

“Be of good courage”….for your Lord shall strengthen your heart”. This is where my searching for peace ended up. I commanded the storm to be still. Isn’t that what Jesus did….he said, “Peace, be still.” Then there was a great calm. The hurricane loses power….all because Jesus commanded it to be so.

Storms, adversities, difficulties of all magnitudes of all sizes and kinds enter into our lives and leave us devastated by its outcome. BUT I say to you “Be of Good Courage for your Lord is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

I encourage us all to stand tall in ALL that Jesus has promised, lift your eyes up to the hills, where your help comes from…..(Psalm 121:1)

Rise up from your/our circumstances, see from the perspective of Jesus and know that He is there calming the storm which rages inside of us and outside of us. My trust is in Jesus….the difference has been made. I give ALL glory to God!! For He is the God that saves!!!!
