As you already know, addressing summer learning loss is a critical to improving reading proficiency. This video https://thinkstretch.com/blog/best-video-to-explain-summer-learning-loss/ demonstrates what happens to our at risk students over the summer.
In April, many community stakeholders met to identify resources, needs and opportunities to collaborate to address summer learning loss.
It is time to plan for 2018. To that end, a meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 4:30 p.m. at the Exeter Community Library. Ready.Set.Read! hopes you can attend. Your knowledge related to summer learning and your input are invaluable to planning for next summer.
Potential agenda items include:
- An awareness campaign
- A user friendly list of programs for parents
- Collaboration between community stakeholders
- Time: Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 4:30 p.m.
- Location: Exeter Public Library
- 4569 Prestwick Drive
- Reading, PA 19606
Please reply with your attendance plans by Monday, September 25, 2017 to Jane Moyer (firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-685-4577).
Please share this invitation with others in your School District and/or community who are doing this work.
