Marriage & Family Builders offers workshops for marriage, singles, and couples education. These workshops use a research-based approach to teach couples and singles how to recognize common danger signs, manage and resolve problems as a team, have open and effective communication and preserve and enhance passion, commitment, fun and friendship. Workships are available in English and Spanish.
PREP
PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program) is one of the most comprehensive and well respected divorce-prevention/marriage enhancing programs in the world. PREP is a skills and principles-building curriculum designed to help partners say what they need to say, get to the heart of problems, and increase their connection with each other.
What is PREP?
PREP is education, not therapy. Most of us learned to read with the help of a teacher. We took tennis lessons, piano lessons or at least watched a t.v.
show on how to remodel the bathroom before digging in. But when it comes to loving relationships, we just assume we'll know how to do it. The fact is that most of us didn't learn relationship skills in a direct manner from qualified sources. Most of us simply picked up bits of information from people who had good intentions, but lacked expertise. Worse, some passed on advice that was downright wrong.
When it comes to loving the most important people in our lives, no one can ever learn too much. Research shows that while therapy can be extremely helpful in certain situations, much of what goes wrong in loving relationships has much to do with never having learned the skills and principles associated with successful relationships. That's why we provide an educational program to teach couples the skills and principles they need to maintain a healthy and lasting relationship.

What happens in our romantic attachments affects the possibility of success in every other aspect of life, especially in child rearing and employment.
Based on relevant research and the expertise of leading scholars and providers, the PREP team, and their colleagues have developed a curriculum to improve the chances that individuals can attain relationship success for themselves and their children.
This new research-informed program, Within My Reach, seeks to help:
Those in viable relationships, to cultivate, protect, and stabilize their union, including reaching for their dreams of eventually being married if they desire:
Those in damaging relationships to leave safely; and/or Those who desire a romantic relationship and/or marriage in the future to choose partners wisely: to decide about, rather than slide through, major relationship transitions.
Marriage & Family Builders holds workshops at places like the Berks County Prison, Mary's Home/Mary's Shelter, Salvation Army, YMCA, Easy Does It, and area churches.
