This event brings the Body of Christ and community together in prayer and fellowship. We will share the story of God at work through His people that is continually unfolding at Reading Berks Conference of Churches today. Our story begins and ends at the Father’s table, with God, our source of strength and life. A variety of people will tell the story as we pray and break bread together!
Beyond the awesome presence of God, the following individuals will be part of the breakfast:
Don Heist, Sounding of the Shofar – Don now travels internationally as a shofar player with Paul Wilbur Ministries, as well as independently with many other ministries speaking and playing the shofar at many conferences. Don also visits churches as a guest speaker and leads anointed healing and deliverance services. In just a few short years, Don has gone from a music store owner in Harrisburg, PA to traveling internationally to minister God’s love, grace, healing, and compassion. Through these activities, The “Voice of God” Shofar Ministry, Inc. was birthed.
David Cullen, Worship Leader – David Cullen is a Grammy Award Winner for Best Pop Instrumental Recording. He has performed with Will Ackerman, Samite, Tracy Silverman, Darol Anger, The DePue Brothers Band and Michael Manring. David also has played with The Jaco Big Band, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia , The Philly Pops and the Philadelphia Orchestra. What you may not know is David’s presence in the Church community, leading worship and praising God in various settings, including this year’s breakfast.
Linda Umstead, Harpist – Linda’s lifelong love of music began at age two when she played along with the tv and radio and recreated church hymns on a small toy organ. At age four she was invited to join a performing church choir and received a real organ and lessons for her 6th birthday. In elementary school she was enrolled in piano and flute lessons, participated in the church handbell choir, and later began formal study of piano performance and theory through the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her harp instructor and mentor was orchestral harpist Phyllis Ensher-Peters, student of word renowned harpist Carlos Salzedo. Since 1984 Linda has been a music educator and freelance performer, providing various genres of music for numerous public, private and religious venues. Linda has been privileged to share the stage with internationally known as well as many talented area musicians, orchestras and ensembles.
