Michael returned in March of 2016. He previously served in the same capacity from March of 2010 through December of 2013. Prior to that (November 2008 – February 2010) he served as Associate Director under then Executive Director, Calvin Kurtz.
Raised in the Catholic Church, Michael grew in relationship with Jesus through the sacraments of the church, years of Catholic schooling and a special youth movement called “Search”. After getting married in 1988, he and his wife Pamela, continued a journey of discovering Jesus, not only in Catholicism, but through the Episcopal Church, and a pilgrimage that allowed them to experience many denominational expressions of Christianity. They currently worship at Reading City Church, a non-denominational evangelical congregation.
At times the journey of visiting various Christian churches was a mystery. This mystery was solved upon discovering Reading Berks Conference of Churches. After joining the RBCC Board of Directors in 2007, Michael’s heart jumped as he learned about the ecumenical work of the Conference. His pilgrimage of experiencing Jesus through many denominations now made perfect sense.
Michael has a passion for bridging connections throughout the community. He continually seeks ways to build relationships within the Body of Christ, so that we may give witness to our oneness as His followers. He believes that as we share the love of Christ together, we become a living response to Jesus’ prayer of unity. (John 17: 20-26)
Michael and his wife Pamela have enjoyed 29 years of marriage, and have two adult children. They cherish time with family and friends, and the beautiful diversity of the Body of Christ.
