Berks County Family Residential Center
We are in need of Spanish Christian books and Spanish Bibles. Please contact me at 610-396-0310 x2380 or call the RBCC office if you can help provide these. Also, please keep us in your prayers; God is doing great things in the Family Shelter and we pray that He will continue to show Himself in this place.
Berks County Youth Center -
We are in need of books such as “Run Baby, Run” by Nicky Cruz; “What on earth am I hear for?” by Rick Warren; The Message Bibles; "The life you've always wanted" by John Ortberg and “The Cross and The Switchblade” by David Wilkerson.
Nursing Home Ministry –
RBCC coordinates volunteers to provide worship services at eight nursing homes and rehab facilities. Volunteers are always needed and welcome. If you, or someone in your congregation, has a heart for this ministry, and would like to provide a brief worship service, please contact the office. Most facilities request services be limited to 30-45 minutes; residents seem to enjoy lots of music and singing. You may volunteer to do one service a year or many more; the choice is yours.
Berks Heim –
If any church groups choose to have a fall project, some of our needs are: Coloring books, crayons, slightly used clothing (clean and in good repair), men’s & women’s new colognes and powers, slightly used costume jewelry, new gloves all sizes, scarves, wallets or purses, or playing cards. Contact Chaplain Bruce Baker at 610-376-4841 ext. 7421.
RBCC Office –
The Conference is in need of clerical volunteers. Some tasks include making reminder phone calls (weekly); collating, folding and addressing The Conference Call (quarterly); and general office help (as needed, especially before an event). If you are able to help, please contact Claire.
Berks County Prison/HalfWay Church -
Mentors are still needed to help in-mates reintegrate into society. Please call Chaplain Paul Long at 610-208-4800 ext. 4375 for more information. All Volunteers must renew their IDs each year. Call the Prison Chapel to get more info & register.
