The Good Idea – Condemnation vs Conviction

While listening to His still small voice I heard, “When the words put your life right before your face.” Well who wants to look at that, I ask?

Definitely a Selah moment. When words are spoken out about us, we can take those words and be condemned by them (guilt) or let those words convict us through His precious Holy Spirit.

When the woman caught in sin was brought to Jesus, He did not condemn her…..He said to her, in John 8:10-11…. (TLV) Straightening up, Yeshua said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” “No one, Sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Yeshua said. “Go, and sin no more.”

You see Yeshua/Jesus did not condemn her in her sin, instead He forgave her, told her to go and sin no more.

I am sure that the words spoken over her by her accusers were condemning….but not God. He will never condemn or make you “feel” bad. Instead He lovingly takes your heart in His hands and brings moments of conviction in which we can lovingly be corrected, forgiven, and cleansed.

There are times when we have to face something that we did or said. These are the words that put our life right before our face. We must face some uncomfortable situations.

I encourage you today…..take a good look at what and who Jesus sees. You may see yourself one way and people may see you another. But I tell you Jesus sees you as Himself made in His image. Forgiven and totally His.

Words, you can receive them or discard them….either way, Jesus sees you in His Love. Nancy
