The GoodIdea – Be Still & Know

“Stand silent! Know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation in the
world!” Psalm 46:10 (TLB)

Whew, are you sensing the need to continuously move, do and perform for
the people and tasks ahead of you? For the life that calls you to keep
holding those plates up, keep being all that to those who depend on you,
keep at least one foot moving? If so, this message is for you.

We are such a “just do it” society. If we are not doing it, then we are
inactive and must get up to perform. Some of us have a hard time laying it
down and resting. We tend to develop that Thumper foot that just needs to
move.

Sometimes at night I wonder why my legs ache…..really??? Yes because I
find myself continually getting up and down, retracing my steps and making
new ones. I am programmed to be on the move. How about you?

Well, let me ground us. The Word of God tells us in Psalm 46:10 that we are
to be silent/stand still and know that He is God.

We hear these words, we know what the words mean and yet we continue to
run at a pace that many times we were not meant to run.

We find ourselves making decisions before we even ask the Lord what His
thoughts are on what we are thinking about.

How easy if we would just heed His words, receive His words, do His words.
So I submit for your consideration…..instead of being so engrained in the
doing, focused in on the doing, that we focus in on the being. The being
in Christ, the being in the Word, the being in the peace of Jesus. AMEN

Nancy
