The Pa Artist Blacksmith Association (PABA) is looking for an individual or group to sell food at their annual public outreach event on Saturday August 4th.
The event is from 9am to 4pm at Old Dry Road Farm, 202 Highland Road, Wernersville, PA (on the “back side of Blue Marsh Lake” in Lower Heidelberg Twp.).
We need someone to sell basic fare, like hot dogs and hamburgers (and possibly soup), sodas and water, chips, etc from around 10 to 3 (or the full time if you’d like and you could certainly sell breakfast items, too).
The event, Blacksmith Day, is held rain or shine, in a barn and outdoors, so attendance can be hampered by poor weather, but we typically see at least 200 people and some years over 400. There is no access to potable water or electricity, so you would have to be self contained.
You would need to provide everything to sell the food outdoors: canopy, tables, coolers, all food, means to cook food, condiments, napkins, plastic ware, etc. There is vehicle access to the set up site and the vehicle(s) can remain at your site.
A $20 fee will be collected from you to be given to Old Dry Road Farm, Inc. PABA charges no other fee to set up and sell, so all remaining profit is yours. Our previous vendor was unable to attend this year.
Blacksmith Day is a free, family event to promote the craft of blacksmithing. There are blacksmithing displays & demonstrations, a contest among the members and open stations available for the general public to try their hand at blacksmithing.
