Camp Noah http://readingeagle.com/life/article/carol-balinski-st-lukes-lutheran-church-in-reading-to-host-camp-noah-in-august#.WzJUjvmAreE.email
We are so excited to offer a Camp Noah in Reading, PA this summer! The Reading Lutheran Parish will be hosting a Camp Noah at St. Luke’s for children who have come to the area from Puerto Rico and the islands after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We are especially in need of bilingual volunteers (Spanish and English).
During Camp Noah, a team of Certified Camp Staff accompanies campers through an intentional process that enables the children to process their disaster and/or trauma experiences and gives them the space and time necessary to tell their stories and build resiliency skills. Campers participate in small groups, large group time (including music, skits, and puppet shows), crafts, and recreation time.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Anyone interested in volunteering their time or donating to Camp Noah may also contact me at 484-201-7936 or lrbower@ptd.net. They may also seek more information at www.lssmn.org/campnoah/volunteer.
