YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Schuylkill Technology Center – South Campus Conference Room, MarLin, PA
Monday & Tuesday, May 22 & 23, 2017 (8:00am-12:15pm)
Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour training to teach participants how to help a young person who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. Anyone can take the 8-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course, but it is designed for adults who work with young people, ages 12-18 – teachers, coaches, leaders of faith communities, social workers, first responders, and other caring citizens. Please see the attached Flyer for additional information about Youth Mental Health First Aid.
Registration and Youth Mental Health First Aid manuals are free to participants. Please share with anyone who may be interested in becoming a Youth Mental Health First Aider. Seating is limited.
Participants must attend both days in its entirety. If you are interested in attending the 2 day training, please register at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/STC-May2017
ACT 48 Credits for Professional Educators are available and this course is also approved for ACT 71 Suicide Prevention and Awareness for education staff.
Schuylkill County Systems of Care Project will be providing coffee and donuts.
